thy kingdom come

praying for peace. grace. mercy. healing. Jesus.

Between Ascension Day (May 10, 2018) and the Day of Pentecost (May 20th) the Archbishop of Canterbury is calling on Christians around the world to pray.

You can join in this initiative here at St. Mark’s is several ways. The easiest way though is to pick five people who you know who need peace, healing, grace, forgiveness…Jesus. And just pray for them each day.

The Lord’s Prayer

Each day, from May 10 to May 20, we will release a short piece on the quintesential prayer: The Lord’s Prayer. You can find it each day on our social media channel.

Ribbons

Outside the front doors of the church are two prayer stations to be used by the whole community. The most visible will be the ribbon station. Walk up, drive up, jog up, skate up—whatever—and write a prayer on a provided ribbon and tie it to the clothesline with the other ribbons. This station will open on May 10.

The Labyrinth

Also outside the front doors of the church will be a chalk labyrinth, which anyone is welcome to come and walk and pray with. Labyrinths are ancient tools of prayer that go back many millenia.

Ascension Day

On May 10th at 7PM there will be an intergenerational prayer gathering. There will be music, snacks, and a variety of prayer stations that are designed to help you connect to God with creativity. The youngest children and the most mature adult will have something to inspire them.
